Our Academics

Picture
Our curriculum builds analytical thinking, creativity and communication skills; captures students interests with advanced courses, laboratory experiences and research, and develops character and responsibility.

An Extraordinary Curriculum

Our innovative curriculum is defined by three key elements:  engaging and rigorous courses, an optimal environment and expert teachers.

Engaging and Rigorous Coursework

Our courses capture student interest through hands-on work, authentic research, experiential learning, lively debates and discussions, and project-based learning.  We feature a world-class, advanced STEM-based curriculum focused on research and innovation, including full-year engineering and computer science beginning in 4th grade. Complementing these offerings, our coursework in the liberal arts, language arts and social sciences help students develop career and life skills: an understanding of sources and evidence; argument and debate strategies; analytical thinking; written and oral communication skills.

Optimal Environment

As a school for gifted, Ideaventions Academy applies research-based strategies that include:
  • A focus on maintaining small class sizes, less than ten students, to support individualized attention, facilitate personalized learning, and promote a collegial environment.
  • A vibrant community of students and teachers, where strong relationships are built in the classroom and outside the classroom.
  • An accepting and enjoyable academic, social and intellectual environment that supports students achieving to their full potential.

Expert Teachers

Our teachers possess expert knowledge, passion for their subject areas and strive to teach the professional practices and skills of their field.
