Endless Possibilities

Design software to control a swarm of drones using computational intelligence. Discover a new molecular pathway involved in learning and memory. Conduct your own ecological survey. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination for your independent research project at Ideaventions Academy.

Research Mentors

By the time our students reach 12th grade, they have been able to dig deep into their preferred STEM passion, and have amassed the research tools necessary to design and implement their own projects. Under the guidance of our research-trained staff, each senior student will follow their passion and conduct real, meaningful research on their topic of choice. 

Meaningful Contributions

For a science-related project, this may culminate in a poster and an abstract submitted to a conference in their field, while a more engineering-minded student could create a prototype that is fully realized enough to be launched on Kickstarter. If a student’s interests require specialized expertise or equipment that we cannot provide at the Academy, we will help them forge contacts with local universities and/or companies to allow them to achieve their goals. We see our students as the innovators of the future, and requiring a senior research project is just one way that we equip them with the tools and the mindset to do just that.

​We also recognize that students may be ready to engage in their research project prior to their senior year if they have completed their high-school level science, computer science and engineering requirements. Therefore, it is possible for students to engage in a multi-year project.
