2016-2017 STEM Labs
Ideaventions offers STEM labs for homeschool and preschool students.
July 20th, 2016
Dear Ideaventions Families,
Due to the growth and success of Ideaventions Academy, our innovative 4th-8th grade private school, we will not be able to offer after school and Saturday science classes this coming 2016-2017 school year. We will continue to offer a small number of home school classes that take place during the day. Our unique elementary STEM camp programs and new middle school summer research academies will continued to be offered as well.
This difficult decision is due to the outstanding results in exceeding our student goals for success, strong and increasing interest by families for our educational approach, and growing recognition and disruption within gifted and STEM education of our innovative educational model. As part of this success, we announced last year that Ideaventions Academy for Mathematics and Science is expanding to high school, starting with opening 9th grade in 2017.
As many of you know, I’ve personally taught many labs on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings, alongside our team of excellent teachers. I will certainly miss the wonderful times and families as the autumn season begins. For the last six years, the after school and Saturday morning labs have been full of beautiful learning moments, exciting experiments, amazing engineering creations, and most of all collaborative curiosity.
As we continue into the future, we’ll reevaluate bringing back the after school and Saturday morning programs as part of our Science Center mission. Our goal is to continue to push the edges of hands-on STEM education and gifted education in both formal and informal environments.
We invite you to take a moment, although we know this announcement is met with disappointment, to share some of your favorite science and engineering memories you’ve experienced with us. We hope together we’ve ignited and nurtured your child’s curiosity in science and engineering!
We encourage you to continue to nurture your child’s curiosity and love for learning!
Best regards,
Ryan Heitz
