COVID-19 Summer Programs Policy Update
This is a time of uncertainty for all of us. We are unable to know how COVID-19 may affect summer programs right now. Due to this uncertainty, as of March 29th, we are updating our summer program policies as follows:
What if summer programs are cancelled? We believe that nothing should stop our curiosity and learning. We also believe in being persistent and creative! Below are details of our back up plan - virtual camps and courses.
- Final payments for summer programs are being delayed from May 1 to May 15th.
- Should we need to cancel the programs, we will issue a full refund.
- On May 4th, we will provide an update on the status of summer programs.
What if summer programs are cancelled? We believe that nothing should stop our curiosity and learning. We also believe in being persistent and creative! Below are details of our back up plan - virtual camps and courses.
Back Up Plan: Virtual Camps and Courses:
Our school has been operating at nearly 100% normal schedule using virtual classes and we are currently offering six different Spring Break courses virtually. Although not as ideal as in-person, we think this could be a great option for children and parents looking for learning opportunities that are creative, interactive, enriching, and guided by a teacher.
Our back-up plan if COVID-19 does restrict our in-person camps and programs is to offer virtual summer camps and courses. Some of these will be ½ day camps with a choice of morning and afternoon sessions. These will be small groups of 10 or less students meeting with a teacher that leads activities via online meeting technology (Google Meet).
A few additional notes:
- Current registrants would be given first priority for selecting from our virtual camp offerings.
- Some courses and camps may be able to be performed by modifying activities, but keeping the focus and learning content close to the original plan.
- Other courses and camps may need to be changed to different topics.
- Any payments can be applied to these offerings and any difference refunded.
- The following courses will run in person or virtually, and will not be cancelled:
- AP Computer Science A (Minimum enrollment met - 1 spot remaning)
- Literature Seminar: J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (Minimum enrollment confirmed)
- Literature Seminar: G.K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday and Charles Williams' The Place of the Lion (3 more students required to meet minimum enrollment)
- Storytelling Through Video Game Design Workshop (7/13 - 17 - Ages 13-17; Minimum enrollment confirmed)
- Writing Workshop for Card-Based Role Playing Games (1 more student required to meet minimum enrollment)
