Our 7th and 8th grade engineers completed the Future Engineers: Two For The Crew challenge today! We wish them luck!
Our 7th graders visited Kiddie Academy again to read STEM-themed books to three- and four-year-olds. Students split into three different groups to visit one of three classrooms, where they read a story and made a craft with the younger children. What a fun time filled with rainbows, ladybugs, and scientists-in-training! When we returned, we debriefed on our experience. Students felt they interacted better with the younger children and recounted some funny conversations!
We had a wonderful time sharing with our families and friends at our Family Holiday Potluck! Thank you to all of the parents who made a memorable evening happen.
Our 6th graders and above were challenged to design a Mars Base Camp Habitation module. These young astronauts researched and learnt about propulsion, power generation systems, exploratory vehicles, the Habitation module, crew quarters, laboratory and more. They built a model and created a video for this challenge.
https://youtu.be/_3TbnVQ75Xg Good Luck Star Sailors!! We have our second Math Olympiad for all of Lower School students! All of our students competed December 12 and 13th.
The Rocketry Club at Ideaventions Academy is hosting a free "SpaceNight" for the community on Friday, December 8th.
Join us for hands-on science and engineering activities! Using water and fizzing tablets, see how high you can launch a film canister "rocket". Make a stomp rocket and test its flight indoors on our launchers. Test your skills in making paper airplanes, create different designs and test fly them. To join in the fun, please sign up for one of the time slots (6-7 PM or 7-8PM) - both have the same activities, and both are absolutely FREE. Our next social event will take place on Friday, December 1st . A dinner consisting of hot dogs (including kosher dogs)/chicken sausages, chips, and a dessert will be provided. Dinner will be from approximately 5:30 - 6:15 pm. Bingo will last from approximately 6:15-7:15 pm, with a short break in the middle. Prizes will be awarded at the end, including the possibility of pieing a teacher!
Open to Ideaventions Academy students and their guests. |
