Learning experiences at Ideaventions Academy capture student interest through hands-on work, authentic research, independent projects, self-paced learning experiences, lively debates and discussions, and both project and problem-based learning. We feature a world-class, advanced STEM-based curriculum focused on research and innovation, including full-year engineering and computer science beginning in our lowest grade, 4th grade.
Ideaventions Academy students have had success in a wide variety of learning experiences, but generally, the most successful ones have been the ones with real-world applications. These experiences have resulted in increased student engagement and an emotional connection to their learning experience, resulting in improved learning outcomes and excitement about learning.
Reading & Writing
On average, Ideaventions students read 24 books per year.
After one year at Ideaventions Academy, our students are 2.2 years above grade level in English Grammar.
Of the students who have completed the middle-school science sequence, 62% are ready for the college-level course that corresponds to the class taken by the start of high school.
The middle-school science sequence consists of high-school level Chemistry, Biology and Physics taken in 6th through 8th grades.
We are one of 685 out 18,000 to receive the College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for attaining female student representation in AP Computer Science Principles for 2018.
After participation in the Lower School Computer Science curriculum, 100% of students were prepared for and signed up for AP Computer Science as high-school freshmen.
