Graduation Requirements

Course Requirements
Students must complete an equivalent of 23 full-year courses, or 23 credits comprised of the following:
- English—4 years / 4 credits
- Math—4 years / 4 credits
- Science—4 years / 4 credits
- History—3 years / 3 credits: U.S. History, European History, and Government
- Computer Science and Engineering—1 years / 1 credits
- College-Level STEM Course, Research Project or Internship—1 years / 1 credit
- Economics and Personal Finance—1 year / 1 credit
- World Language—2 years of the same language / 2 credits, although 3 or more years is strongly recommended
- Elective—1 years / 1 credits which may include courses from any area
- Physical Education—2 years / 2 credits
Science Coursework Distribution Requirement
To graduate, students at Ideaventions Academy must take a total of 4 years of science (4 credits) and the courses selected must be from at least two of the following three sciences:
- Biology (Honors or AP Biology)
- Chemistry (Honors or AP Chemistry)
- Physics (Honors or AP Physics C)
Non-Academic Course Requirements
Ideaventions Academy Physical Education program requires that students pursue physical activity independently and outside of the school academic day. Students are required to submit a log of their physical activity on a monthly basis. Students may choose between activity or after school club opportunities for physical education, such as cycling or running clubs, or pursue physical exercise on their own time. Students who work with a coach or trainer, or who are in another organized exercise program or sport may use that work towards PE credit. Ideaventions Academy requires that students complete at least 2 years or 4 semesters (2 credits) during their four years to be eligible for graduation.
