​We are offering full-day, 1-week summer camps. Each camp week consists of our award-winning STEM camps and is a different theme or focus. Each day consists of a fun, well-rounded day of activities including:

• Two hands-on science or engineering labs based on the theme
• A computer science lab to learn coding and computational thinking, as well as building teamwork and communication skills in Minecraft Education Edition.
• Daily outdoor time in the form of nature hikes or outdoor play in our fenced play area.
• Daily enrichment in math & logic and literature.
• Lunch and a 30-min science or engineering movie (e.g. Bill Nye the Science Guy - a camp favorite!, Disney Imagineering, Popular Mechanics for Kids)
• Campers will be grouped by age/grade

Camp times (Monday - Friday)

• Regular camp day is from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm 
• Before Care available from 8 - 8:30 am for Morning Explorers ($40 per week)
• After care available from 3:30 - 6:00 pm ($150 per week)​

• If a camp week is full, please email [email protected] with the name and grade of your child this fall to be added to the waiting list. 
• Due to Virginia licensing requirements, the child must be 6 years old before the first day they attend camp. 
• Individual pre-packaged lunches may be ordered through Schoolhouse Grill for individual days. We will provide the link for ordering with the welcome email the week before the start of each camp week. The cost for lunches is not included in the camp cost.

​6/23 - 6/27	Extreme Engineering	Starting with Extreme Engineering, discover the engineering design behind structural marvels of the world! Study the architecture of bridges, skyscrapers, geodesic domes, tunnels, dams, gliders and more while experimenting to see how different materials respond to stress and strain. In the lab, we create our own extreme structures and use the engineering cycle (design, build, test, modify) to discover the best, most efficient design! 6/30 - 7/3* ​no camp on 7/4	Wild ideaBots	By the end of this camp, robots will be running amok. A week entirely of robotics, campers are given a hands-on chance to build their own robotic creations. Our campers will get a complete introduction to the world of robotics by building robots from the ground up—learning about everything from pressure sensors to effectors. And, of course, they’ll build their very own alien or bug robot! Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition. ​7/7 - 7/11	Operation Spy	Your mission: uncover the science behind the gadgets and methods used by top secret spies. The undercover adventure includes building our own spy gear, learning to make and break codes, and using science and technology to complete our secret missions. Learn electronics to create alarm systems, explore exotic places and cultures, practice the art of disguise and deception to fulfill secret missions. Explore electricity, ciphers, lasers, chemical reactions, and world cultures. ​ Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition Students will explore computer science using computational exercises from Code.org. ​7/14 - 7/18	Tesla's Lab: Science with Sparks!	Step into our labs and explore the science of electricity and magnetism through hands-on experiments! Nikola Tesla, the famous inventor, inspires us to explore circuits, motors, and lights. Through shocking labs, examine phenomena like sparks, static electricity, resistance, and capacitance. Experiment with the invisible forces of magnets to levitate and move objects. As part of our journey, we'll learn about Nikola Tesla's inventions and explore the phenomena of electromagnetism in our own version of Tesla's labs! ​​ Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition Students will explore computer science using computational exercises from Code.org. ​7/21 - 7/25	Strange Science: Slime, Illusions, and Oddities	Odd things await in the lab! Don lab coats and goggles, then enter into our Strange Science Labs. Mix together concoctions that bubble, fizz, and ooze while you learn chemistry. Produce illusions that would mystify a magician using engineering and physics. Celebrate the strange substances and phenomena that can be created in the lab. The scientists will learn about chemical reactions, optics, and forces, as we measure, mix, and make strange science creations. ​​ ​Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition Students will explore computer science using computational exercises from Code.org. 7/28 - 8/1	Inventor's Lab: Design + Engineering	Eureka! Love to invent! Want to build some of the most important inventions in the world's history or try your hand at conducting famous experiments. Travel back in time, as we invent in our laboratories. Recreate important inventions from the past and create your own inventions. What problem will your invention solve? What new inventions await? Amazing discoveries are welcome each day as we learn about inventors, inventions, and use the engineering design process to create our own unique solutions to problems. ​ ​​Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition. ​8/4 - 8/8	Escape Room Design: Spider Man Style	Over the course of the week we use science, engineering, and logic skills to make and break puzzles. Together we apply our creativity to design and build an escape room based on inspiration from the world of Spider Man. Our week concludes with an escape room challenge. 8/11 - 8/15	Science and Engineering of Ancient Civilizations	Journey back in time! In Ancient Egypt, we build pyramids, learn hieroglyphics and dig for Pharaoh's treasure. In Ancient Greece we learn about Odysseus’ adventures and study Demeter’s plants and Poseidon’s seas. And in Ancient Rome, we make ice cream with Nero (legend has it he invented it!) and build Mt Vesuvius and watch it erupt. ​ Computer Lab: Coding and Minecraft Education Edition Students will explore computer science using computational exercises from Code.org. FAQs ​
​
​What happens if my child needs to be quarantined for the camp session? If your child needs to quarantine and is not able to attend camp for an extended period of time (the full week), please provide a doctor's note, and we will refund the prorated amount based on the time attended/missed. Due to the very hands-on nature of the program, we won't be able to have a concurrent virtual access to camp. Note: we will not be able to refund tuition for non-COVID illness, vacation, or other events. Of course, if there is a serious family issue, please call and speak with Mr. Ryan (co-founder). 

Withdrawals and Refunds:
If you need to withdraw from a course, please send an email to [email protected] requesting the withdrawal. We will not process withdrawals from voicemails. Refunds minus the $100 non-refundable fee can be processed prior to June 1. After June 1, refunds minus the $100 non-refundable fee can be processed if we are able to fill the spot in the course. We appreciate your understanding, as this is a small program, and we make commitments to our faculty for their summer.

We will email you the Wednesday before the first day of camp with details for the following week. We do not require a Virginia Medical form filled out by your doctor.

Invoicing: 
If you selected to pay the deposit, we will invoice you on April 1 via email. ​
