Math Electives

Drift Boats
​Students will design and build a drifter which will be released in the ocean. The drifter will have a satellite transmitter from which we can track the drifter’s course. Students will learn about the oceanographic processes as we integrate oceanography, engineering, math, geography, and technology into the drifter project.

Board and Card Game Design
Students will design and create a board or card game that will use and challenge their knowledge of theoretical and experimental probability. Students will learn about compound events, and dependent and independent events that can be incorporated into their games.
